day twelve: dear future husband
Wednesday, May 4, 2011
Dear future husband, dear, I do not think
I know you yet and yet I can see you
Behind my eyelids and atop the sink
I'll search till there is nothing left to do
But proffer my heart and hand in greeting
After which you'll retrieve them in due course
Though moment forged will surely be fleeting
The fruits of fate will never grow remorse
Why then, does stubborn doubt possess my heart?
After which you'll retrieve them in due course
Though moment forged will surely be fleeting
The fruits of fate will never grow remorse
Why then, does stubborn doubt possess my heart?
Of futile search and lasting reverie
Far more than I can settle for apart
Are you but tale of fabled chivalry?
Far more than I can settle for apart
Are you but tale of fabled chivalry?
My eyelids, lies and mirrors, trick of light
It is unwise to look to dreams for flight
It is unwise to look to dreams for flight
